Missing football? There’s no time like the present to check out the Professional Developmental Football League (PDFL), which began its preseason in April.
Founded in 2008, the PDFL plays under NFL rules and features players with college football, NFL, CFL, and Indoor Football League backgrounds. The league features nine teams spread throughout the Pacific Northwest, the deep South, California, and Utah. With professional-caliber players and tickets offered at the bargain price of $15 and under, the PDFL is truly one of the best values in sports.
The league’s flagship team, the SeaTac Cobras, kick off their pre-season on May 4th with an exhibition game against the Puget Sound Outlaws, a member of the Greater Northwest Football Association (GNFA). On May 11th the Cobras square off against the Inner City Shine, an independent football organization from Oregon. Both games will be played at Renton Memorial Stadium…which will be home to the Cobras in 2013.
Like the Cobras, most of the PDFL teams will begin their regular season in May. Two teams getting the PDFL action started early are the Palm Beach Crush and Miami Xtreme, who will play each other in Royal Palm Beach, Florida on May 11th.
Full season schedules are available on the teams’ websites, which are accessible through ThePDFL.com, the official website of the PDFL. The website also features the official PDFL store, where you can stock up on gear to support your favorite PDFL team all season long.
