In January, Sephardic Bikur Holim is hosting an event to honor Rabbi Solomon Maimon, a pillar of Seattle’s Jewish community and the founder of the Sephardic Adventure Camp. Take a look at this short piece on his work in the community and the upcoming event!
A second story of mine – a preview of Mirele Efros, a classic Yiddish play that will be performed tonight by the Seattle Jewish Theater Company – went up on Jew-ish.com last week. Of course, I was too busy stuffing my face with turkey and latkes to link to it, but I’m doing it now. Better late than never, right?
This week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Yafit Haba, a local glass fusion artist. But Haba isn’t just an artist – she’s also an accomplished scholar with a PhD in chemical engineering, and she puts her education background to work teaching classes in glass fusion, stained glass, and collage. You can read the article and navigate over to her website and Etsy store, where she sells her beautiful pieces, by clicking the link below.
I was published on JTNews earlier this week as part of their annual “5 Women to Watch” feature. Check out my piece on Malka Adatto Popper, a Seattle native who recently returned to the area and is doing wonders with local Jewish youth and education.
